We went to Arnhem in the snow today to visit the museum at the site of a famous WWII battle.
“Look!” I said. “A big, huge tank!”
My dad and my husband looked at each other.
“Um, sweetie?” said my dad. “That’s actually a smallĀ tank.”
“But I’m glad you think it’s big and huge,” said Greg. With a wink. As my dad cackled.
In conclusion, I’m traveling with 12 year old boys.
And I fit right in.
……….
P.S. Tanks for hosting us, Mark, Carina and family!
We had a beautiful trip.
……….

Hahahahahaha! *snort*

One of my jobs in the naming-team duo of my husband and me is to screen all names for potential embarrassing nicknames. I’m danged good at it, too, because I am a 12-year-old boy.

Wow! Strange to think that you were standing there while I was sitting at my desk a mere 7 kilometers away!
I hope you had a good time over here, despite the weather
What else did you go see?

7 kilometres? Where do you live (and/or work) then, Rolien?

Ps: the other highlight of that day (besides having Dutch pancakes for dinner) *must* have been the Hema!
Or the windmill in the snow. Or the Dutch Smurf mugs. Or… Beth?

The Hema and smurf mugs….Sounds good!
I live in Wageningen and work in Arnhem. So I pass the Airborne Museum several times a week….But I’ve never been inside.

Ooh, that IS strange. Wish we would’ve run into you, Rolien!
We loved the snow, actually. We don’t get a lot of it in our part of Oregon, so it was nice to have real winter for a day. And so beautiful.
Other highlights = Carina’s cute kiddos and hagelslag!
