Welcome to Five Kids Is A Lot Of Kids. I’m thrilled you’re here.
- Don’t mind the mess. Jump in! You can always begin reading with these favorites.
- Who am I? I’m Beth; my husband, Greg, and I have a whole lot of kids. Our kids are adopted and biological, singletons and multiples, and some have special needs. Most importantly, they’re all our very own.
- I tell the truth. Sorry.
If you’re curious why people read Five Kids Is A Lot Of Kids, here are some of the unreasonably kind things people had to say.
- You capture the mom experience with all its pathos and humor!
- After reading your blog, I feel like I’ve just had a good laugh with a girlfriend.
- I read this blog because it makes me feel like I’m not alone. I appreciate your complete honesty on topics that I’d probably lie about!
- Because kids basically have a knack for making us question our sanity. And it’s great to know we’re not completely wrong at this parenting thing; and if we are, we’re not the only ones! We’re in great company.
- Your blog is hysterical, and I relate to it so much that sometimes it feels like you’re writing about me.
- You are authentic and genuine; you share things that a lot of moms deal with but just don’t admit or talk about. You have a fresh approach and optimistic look at life and it is refreshing.
- It is comedic and real. I’m not a mom, but I often find connections to my own life in your stories.
- I love your blog! It usually makes me laugh. I love that you can find such great humor in the craziness of raising 5 kids. And it makes me feel less alone when my kids do crazy things. Oh, and it makes me feel even more grateful we stopped at 3.
- I greatly enjoy the tone of your posts, and the “message” that you constantly are putting forth, which I would describe as “Family, it’s why we’re here.”
- I’m your dad… and Mom makes me.
No matter why you’re here, I’m glad to have you along on this often-bumpy, always-entertaining journey.
Beth

Appreciate the truth in life and have enjoyed your blog. I found you by way of John Schroeder’s blog. Just met John at my son’s wedding (which was a LOT of fun) complete with croquet (the bride won) gotta love that!
Thanks!

Oh Beth, this blog. It is amazing. It tugs at my heart and it makes me laugh and it makes me feel like maybe I am not doing this parenting thing so badly. I am a single mom to a four year old little girl, who is the light of my life. Life is so busy. The laundry doesn’t get folded. I don’t know the last time I saw my dining room table under all the junk, and I certainly never have all the toys put away … but reading your blog made me exhale and say yes, it is ok. Because the joy of parenting has nothing to do with folded laundry or a clean house. It has to do with the love and the laughter. Thank you.

Thank you, Megan. You nailed my fondest hopes and dreams for this blog… that other mamas will know we don’t go it alone. Welcome here, and thank you for taking the time to send this.

You are quite the amazing young woman but that is more understandable since I know your ‘equally amazing parents’ . I know they are very proud of you and your unique family.
Keep up the good work. I can see your blog is a great help & inspiration to other mothers.
Lake (LL) Girl …that’s what I call myself to think I’m young instead of a 78 yr. old grandma ! Well, I did just bail about 20 gals of water out of my row boat & turned it over yesterday after our rains returned.

I just love your tagline – raising kids self-sufficient enough to pay for their own counseling – LOL…fellow monkee here, just saying hello to you and ALL those kids you have

I just found your blog; I am pregnant with my second and my partner’s fifth child, and I’m just hoping to get a glimpse of a future that is coming up fast! My partner is terrified of the idea of five, particularly our special blended bunch, but I hope it’ll settle out as time goes by.

This blog is adorable! I managed to get myself here looking for someone else’s laundry approach. On pinterest. I’m so glad! I have 5 kids, 4 boys and a girl, 5 kids IS a lot of kids. Laundry is driving me insane! I can’t clean it all, dry it all, fold it all (leave it on my couch for a few days) then find a place in their already crammed full drawers (just because there are 3 kids sleeping in one room doesn’t mean it fits 3 dressers)… You’re a GENIUS! I can’t wait to show my husband your wall of baskets. I’m in love. And now, a blog I can relate to!! Thanks for taking the time to write!

I haven’t even read a thing yet but I came here for the title! I also have five kids and my latest refrain (as we celebrate two graduations, two proms, and a First Communion in a matter of five weeks) is that I just had too many kids. Not that I REALLY mean it . . . but anyway, I have a feeling I will enjoy your blog.

How is it that I am just finding you? I have 5 kids and damn! It is a lot! But it is good and crazy and fun and sometimes sad and great and awful at the same time. Thanks for giving me a good blog to read when I feel like I am the only one as crazy as me.
